Binh Thuan & Lam Dong Reading Festivals April 2017

On April 2017, our partner, Tu Sach Uoc Mo, organized a volunteer trip to revisit Lam Dong & Binh Thuan provinces to measure impact of our library projects that were established since 2015. During this assessment trip, the team also organized reading festivals to promote reading culture among the students and brought brand new collections of books to replenish our existing library collections.

Our impact by the numbers:

  • 2952 existing book titles were rotated among schools.
  • 1941 new book titles were added for 9 schools.
  • 3773 students were benefited from our library programs.

General observations:

For Lam Dong Schools:

  • Students showed improvement in reading habits and can express their feelings / emotions better. They interacted better during the reading festival.
  • They expressed interest in getting more science books.
  • They showed confident in expressing their opinions about the books and knowledge that they learnt from the books.
  • The library program became an important component for their daily life in school.

For Binh Thuan Schools:

  • They showed confident in expressing their opinions about the books and knowledge that they learnt from the books.
  • They expressed interest in getting more comic and leisure books.
  • Students showed improvement in reading habits and can express their feelings / emotions better.
  • The library program became an important component for their daily life in school.
