Hello everyone,
Here are some news from the Francis Shelter.
The new building is going very well and the works are nearly finished. The goal is to get it completed by the end of September, because the Shelters Anniversary is at the beginning of October and Mr.Chau wants to celebrate with a big birthday party.
It is really really necessary to get a new room. During the last couple of weeks, 5 new kids were brought to the Shelter. You see 4 of them on the photo-documentation. They are not from the same families or groups, but are all in the same age and constitution. They are very neglected, and physically and mentally handicapped. The problem is: at the moment, there are not enough beds for all the kids. Some have to sleep on the wedge-shaped-bolsters and some kids have to share a bed. And for me, it is getting really hard to establish a regular therapy plan for the kids. They have now over 20 kids in the room and often you don´t know where to start…
At the moment, there are 4 guys from the catholic church volunteering full time for one month at the Shelter. The are very motivated, but their English is not very good. But I try to show them some therapy-basics and they are interested in it.
That’s it at the moment.
Have a nice week,
Tobi
