Doan Khanh Vi:
I am Doan Khanh Vi. I’m 14 years old and currently studying at Vinschool. Since I was 10, I had a chance to join many charity groups and activities such as: “Ket noi trai tim” ( http://www.ketnoitraitim.net.vn/ ), etc. Especially, in grade 9, I have done one big project with my classmates, we donated about 8500 books for two poor schools in Thai Nguyen Province in Vietnam. We also communicated with students in those schools, shared some of our skills about learning and reading books. Those activities gave me such wonderful experiences. After all, I have noticed that there are so many children in the countryside don’t have opportunities to go to school or even simply buy books to read. That is why I felt that I’m so lucky to have this fulfilled life. For this reason, I and my friend – Phuong Linh decided to make our own campaign to do fundraising for a library’s program at Lao Chai Elementary school.
Lao Chai Elementary School is located in Lao Chai commune, Mu Cang Chai district in Yen Bai province. This is one of the poorest areas in Yen Bai province, which is the most affected province by climate change with many floods causing severe damages to schools’ materials facilities. At present, Lao Chai school has approximately 1,050 students, of which 800 students from poor families.
Through “Be the Cause for Hope” (BeCause), a US-based non-profit organization, we decide to help raise money to build a brand-new library for Lao Chai Elementary School by selling new books, waste papers (just started), selling red envelopes for Tet holidays (already done), etc. I believe that with our small contributions, we can also help students in Lao Chai Elementary school to get opportunities to enrich their knowledge.

Tran Phuong Linh:
My name is Tran Phuong Linh, I’m 15 and I’m studying at Vinschool . 14 years living in this life, I’m only concentrating on studying, my family and friends. But this year, it has changed some of my notion about the world. In grade 9, I have done one big project with my class, we donated about 8500 books for 2 schools in Thai Nguyen, we also communicated with the student in there, shared some of our skills about a reading book. Therefore we extremely busy at school so we have to balance our time to fit with our study schedule and project’s planning. We decided we could visit twice in each school. That time gave me a lot of great experiences and things to think about: I’m living in great condition, studying in a wonderful environment so I totally forgot people around me. There are so many children are in difficult circumstances, I need to do something to help them, to give them a chance to go to school, a chance to learning like any children deserves to have. With my friend – Khanh Vi, we have signed a project to help the student at Lao Chai school in Yen Bai. At present, Lao Chai school has approximately 1,050 students, of which 800 students from families. The school has no library and many sets of tables and chairs for students.
