BeCause Vietnam team had the opportunity to visit Anh Dao Orphanage to provide the most pressing necessities for the children. Special thanks to Loving Kindess Vietnam, a local non-profit organization in Nha Trang, for assisting us on our visit. Facts:
- Location: Ninh Hoa Province (62 kilometers north of Nha Trang)
- Number of orphans: 60
- Year found: 2004 by Buddist Nun Thich Nu An Son
The children here are happy, playful, and very respectful. When we arrived at the orphanage, we were greeted with a warm welcoming song. We left the place with tearing eyes and touched by their farewell song. To provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son grew a small farm behind the orphanage. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here and the extras are sold to earn minimal income to pay for their monthly expenses. What we provided:
- Foods (noodles, rice, cooking oil, dried squid, dried shrimp, sugar, beans, egg, soy sauce)
- Cleaning supplies (diapers, wash cloths, detergent, soap)
- Drinks (milk, juices)
- Dental Supplies from the U.S. (tooth brush, tooth paste)
- Medicines from the U.S.
- Small allowance for monthly expenses
