Ba Rau Elementary School is located in Loi Hai town, Thuan Bac town, Ninh Thuan (Central Vietnam). Thuan Bac is a small town 362 km from Saigon, populated mostly by ethnic minorities and its economy relies mostly on agriculture.

There are 678 students here, 36% are from low income families and 100% are ethnic minorities. The school has a library, although it will need help with textbook (Vietnamese, English, and Math) that poor students can borrow. Also, parents can barely afford to buy textbooks, notebooks, and uniform for their children.
