School Statistics
  • Number of Students: 663 | 100% Low Income | 100% Minority
Current Conditions & Needs from School
  • This school combines with two Elementary and Secondary Boarding. There are 389 elementary students and 274 secondary students. The main income resources of students’ households come from farming of rice and corn.
  • Our team had a field trip in Tram Tau to conduct a needed assessment through the introduction of BoET. Our discussion with the school came to light that a computer lab is an urgent need for schools in rural areas of Vietnam.
  • School intendedly improves quality education through the utilization of digital skills that students can become exposed a new way of thinking and local thoughts. This also allows teachers are already thinking of ways to re-imagine school, redesign learning spaces and create an overall better learning performance for the students. Due to the limited budget, school are unable to afford to equip the computer lab for all students from 2 levels.
ASK [What BeCause will support]
  • 20 PCs
  • School & DOET will contribute 10 PCs, a set of tables, chairs and internet.
About Our Champion:

Lewis Readman

My name is Lewis, I’m a Senior Manager at Apollo English in Hanoi, Vietnam. I’m from the UK, but I’ve been living and working in Vietnam for the past 8 years. Last year, Apollo worked with BeCause for Hope to help sponsor a new computer lab for schools in rural Yen Bai and I had the privilege of joining fellow Apollonians on our trip there to see the impact we had made. Seeing and hearing how education can lift people out of poverty has inspired me to continue to support teachers and students in these low income areas.

That is why I’m fundraising for BeCause for Hope and another project to provide more PCs and a computer lab for a school in rural Yen Bai. My goal is to raise 30 million VND (almost £1,000 GBP) and I’m taking on the challenge of running a full marathon in the VNExpress Ha Long Marathon on the 10th September this year (one day after my birthday!). I have never ran a marathon or long distance race before, so this is a huge effort for me and I hope you can support my cause.
