School Statistics
  • Number of Students: 960 | 70% Low Income | 100% Minority  
Current Conditions & Needs from School
  • School is located in a very poor commune in Tram Tau, Yen Bai, 85% of population living under poverty line, 100% of population is Mong and Thai minority group. 
  • BeCause supported a computer lab in 2022 to enhance computer literacy skills for ethnic minority students. School has shared that the computer lab has a great impact on helping students move onto more advanced skills. 
  • School has 70% students whose are from low-income families. 661 low-income students are living at the semi-boarding school because their villages are located from 10 to 12 kilometers away that involves a series of very steep and risky landslide areas to commute to school. Students are allowed to stay overnight during the school days. During winter months which is between Oct and April, students feel uncomfortable taking cold shower and students shared with us that cold water has been discouraging from taking shower for good hygiene.
