Current Conditions & Needs from School

Computer literacy is still an unaffordable luxury for schools in rural areas of Vietnam. Ngo Quyen Elementary and Secondary Boarding School has a few old computers for students to share and learn basic computer skills. Recently, the DOET (Department of Education and Training) has introduced the school to BeCause to help raising funds for the creation of a functional computer lab.
The school wants to enhance the learning experience through the use of computer that allow students to become exposed to new way of thinking and learning. It also allows teachers to be creative in redesigning learning spaces and overall learning environment for the students. However, due to budget constraints, the school cannot afford a computer lab.

20 computers and a TV for teaching
The school & DOET will contribute 10 computers, a set of tables, chairs and internet

Akira and I are supporting Ngo Quyen Elementary & Secondary Boarding School through BeCause, a charitable organization that provides educational resources to underprivileged children in Vietnam. I am a proud, full-time, single mom to my daughter Akira. We are a tightly connected family that value education and finances. Since I started working at a very young age, I’ve learned financial responsibility and became interested in economics. I quickly developed skills throughout my career in the financial industry which give me diverse experiences. Once I settled in the industry, I discover a new passion which is helping others, especially children. We have a responsibility to provide for future generations in order to give them opportunities that we might not have had growing up. In addition to BeCause, I play an active role in variety of projects to gather donations for basic living supplies, books, and other educational resources for those in needs. Outside of charity work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and backpacking. I also love traveling, immersing myself in different cultures and understanding the importance of philanthropy. I’ve completed a full and a few half marathons to raise money for cancer treatment as a way to do charity while staying in shape. I strongly believe the importance of health and fitness in order to take care of my loved ones.
