Current Conditions & Needs from School
- Phuoc Tien Kindergarten has six satellite schools and the Tra Co satellite school has 30 low income pre-students. Most of their parents are daily laborers to put food on table to make ends meet.
- Phuoc Tien Kindergarten is purposely intending to prepare pre-school students to have a playground with a wider range of games to boost physical activities. Unfortunately they are running out of options due to limited budget.
- Kindergarten proposed BeCause their actual need to install a recycled playground area to help students have fun and keep them physically active. School also wants to make students happy so that they would stay longer at school after lunch break.
ASK [What BeCause will support]
- Install a mobile playground with recycled materials. School is going to install in the summer of 2022 when teachers will be having square time.
- Playground budget is $1,500 & school and parents will be contributed $500 & daily labor.

Nguyen Quang Nhat Ha
Hi, my name is Nhat Ha, and people often refer to me as Summer.
Growing up in a family of four, with both mom and dad, feels like a privilege to me.
When I was a child, every time my parents took me on vacations, weekend dinners, or simply a walk around the neighborhood, everywhere I go, I would come across the image of children about my age, suffering from absolute and actual poverty. They were usually hungry and barely have enough clothing; they did not get a chance to go to school; most of them were skinny and grey. All I could do was give them some of my save-up or buy one or two of their lottery tickets. But still, I feel like that was not enough, and it truly was…
Time went by and I realized that these images are still present in our modern society. The only different thing is now I am more of a grown-up person, and possibly can make some changes, some bigger changes, toward this bitter reality. I want to change how these children view the world, light a candle in the middle of their gloomy rooms, to tell them that there is still hope and all they need to do is be more optimistic and continue to live on.
Soon I am going to leave this place, the place where I was born and raised, I want to create some differences in people’s lives, who are struggling and suffering from their less fortunate conditions. This act I believe is like a letter of thanks from the deepest of my heart, to express my gratitude for the life that I am having, and most importantly, to spread the love that I already have within myself to those who really need it.

Hi, my name is Huong Giang, but you can call me Giang or Selena.
With questions like: “Describe yourself in 3 words?” My answer would straightforwardly be: “I am just an ordinary being.” People don’t really take my answer seriously, many of them think that I haven’t figured out my life, and many else claim that I’m just indecisive.
Growing up in Ho Chi Minh city, I have many acquaintances with different financial backgrounds but we all get to go to school and study in a fun-friendly environment. Still, I also know about other places where the choice of attending school isn’t first priority, and can be halted because of financial problems in certain circumstances, or simply that the school’s facilities are not good enough for a kid to actually grow determination in obtaining new pieces of knowledge.
Their starting line now has been moved behind what is considered ordinary.
Kids in these places didn’t even know about the obstacles; the obstacles that aren’t visible since kids don’t yet form personal senses of what’s right and what’s fair. It’s like the seeker’s chances are already taken away even before they knew about it.
Hence, ordinary isn’t the default. It is lucky for me to be ordinary, and it is my mission to help the one who is in need.
To be ordinary as a whole and to live up to each person’s dream.
